Although the island is open to cars, the Ile de Ré is characterised by 115km of cycle paths. Cycling has become a true art of living on the island. On the island, take time to stroll around and discover the particularly charming villages, with their white houses and coloured shutters. Enjoy the local products as well! You will enjoy the proximity to the center of the village, its shops and its port, located at 500 meters away only.

the house is comfortable but there is a well directly opposite it. It is supposed to be in use tuesdays and fridays 10.30am - 12.30 pm. However, I have pictures that shows it is in use any time and from as early as 6.30am/7am. The well is highly disruptive as people are chatting, leaving their engines running (even though they are not supposed to). The estate agent have so far been very unhelpful and are still refusing to make this information clearly visible on the front of the house description even though article 1137 from the Civil Code specifies that important info such as this one should be clearly stated.
It is on p10 of the contract, so burried in the last pages. I want other people to know so they can make a proper informed decision.
