    Our guests may go walking in the nice countryside and woods of our cousins of the Lower castle, which is a natural reserve. It is also nice to visit or ride a bicycle through the many nice nearby rural villages or go to the healthy beach of Grado, which is reachable in 20 minutes.
    Holiday destination
    The tower has its own entrance and direct access to the park. The castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens and spring water streams. There is the main building with the tower and the old buildings that were once used as guardhouses, courtyard, granaries, stables, archives, rice mill and St. Nicholas Church, where there is mass on Sundays at 10 o'clock
    Getting there
    You may access the tower at 16:00. You can arrive by highway A4. Take the exit of Palmanova, then turn right and at the second roundabout, take the third exit and enter into the village of Strassoldo. The entrance of the castle (the arch of Porta Cistigna), is on Via Gradisca. You can also arrive by plane at the airport of Venice (40 minutes drive) or Ronchi dei Legionari (15 minutes drive) and then rent a car.     Der Turm ist eine sehr besondere Ferienwohnung und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Gärten sind wunderbar und wir hätten gern mehr Zeit dort verbracht, was gelegentlicher Regen und etliche Mücken leider verhindert haben. Da haben wir einen ungünstigen Zeitpunkt erwischt. Sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man etwas außergewöhnliches sucht. Trotz des mittelalterlichen Bauwerks ist alles da, was man braucht und die Ausstattung ist gut in Schuß und paßt gut dort hinein.

    Unsere Ferien im Schloss von Strassoldo werden unvergessen bleiben. Der wunderschöne Schlossgarten lädt zum Flanieren ein und beim vielfältigen Vogelgesang lässt sich das Frühstück im Garten in aller Ruhe geniessen. Am Abend können neben den Sternen auch Glühwürmchen und Fledermäuse beobachtet werden. Die Gästezimmer im Turm des Schlosses, wo früher Ritter logierten, sind historisch eingerichtet aber lassen den gewohnten modernen Komfort nicht vermissen. Das Örtchen Strassoldo war für uns der ideale Ausgangspunkt, um die Region Friaul kennenzulernen, da viele historische Orte, die Adria aber auch die Berge in kurzer Zeit mit dem Auto zu erreichen waren. Wir danken den Gastgebern, dass sie so liebevoll für einen unbeschwerten Aufenthalt sorgten.
