Holiday destination
The harbour of Surville is a designated natural Park, with unspoilt golden sandy beaches stretching for kilometres in either direction. The nearby market towns of Portbail, la Haye du Puits and Barneville Carteret have a good selection of shops, supermarkets and restaurants as well as a weekly street market. Further afield, there is plenty to visit including cherbourg, Bayeux, Granville and the Mont st. Michel. There are day trips across to the Channel islands of Jersey and Guernsey.

Sehr freundlich wurden wir von Gerard und Christin empfangen. Das Cottage, die Einrichtung und das Anwesen sind superschön, zum wohlfühlen und genießen. Das Meer ist fußläufig zu erreichen, die Sonnenuntergänge waren traumhaft. Die Umgebung ist sehr einsam. Anreisen mit dem Auto und am besten mit Fahrrädern ist empfehlenswewert. Herrlich zum Radeln. Internet WLAN funktionierte nicht, das Netz hatte ebenso schlechten Empfang, deutsches Fernsehprogramm gibt es auch nicht. Uns hat es trotzdem richtig gut gefallen.

Das gemütliche Häuschen ist stilvoll eingerichtet - entsprechend dem Namen Klatschmohn (Coquelicots) mit Accessoirs in Rot-Tönen. Die Möbel - Antik bzw. Stil- passen zum Ambiente eines herrschaftlichen Anwesens (kein IKEA!). Unsere Kinder haben die riesige Rasenfläche vor dem Haus mit Klettergerüst / Schaukel genossen, perfekt auch für Fußball, Frisbee, Federball etc. Der gesamt Aussenbereich des Anwesens ist wunderschön. Die Sitzbereiche draußen und das Gartenmöbel sind perfekt. Statt Wachhund gibt es Schwan Manu, der gerne auf dem Anwesen spazieren geht. Gérard und Christine sind absolut liebenswerte Menschen, die bei allem behilflich sind. Wir haben es sehr genossen!
