Laacher See is only a few minutes away by car, and besides hiking, it offers you other activities, such as pedal boating and a bathing area. In close proximity you have a lot of restaurants all of which can easily be reached on foot or within a few minutes by car. Riedener Waldsee (a 15-minute walk on the Waldweg) is one such destination. In the summer you can also swim in it.

Im Nachbarort Weibern befindet sich am Ortsausgang ein kleines, nicht überlaufendes, Freibad. Ein weiteres stellt das Nettebad Mayen dar, welches mit nicht weniger als einer der längsten am Hang verlegten Rutschbahnen der Welt aufwartet.

For all the motor sports fans! We are only 20 km from Nürburgring. This is where you will also find events such as "Rock am Ring" and others. In addition to this, our region is home to 26 magical paths just perfect for hiking. There are lots of leisure activities in the climbing park, leisure park, and water sports.
>Getting here via the A61. We recommend that you take the "Wehr" exit. After this follow the L412 until the "Weibern" exit. Driving through the villages of Weibern and Wabern you will then reach Volkesfeld.
> Getting here via the A48. We recommend that you take the "Mayen" exit and follow the L262 until you reach the centre of Mayen (Polcher Strasse). Please take the third exit at the roundabout and continue in this direction. You will then, via Büressheimer Str. (L83) / Nettetal reach Volkesfeld.
