Holiday destination
The Eggeröder fountain is indeed hidden in the forest, but it is the ideal base from which you can explore all the sights of the Harz. Nearby you will find the stalactite and stalagmite caves of Rübeland, the Rappbodetal water dam, the monastery Michaelstein in Blankenburg, the workshop Wernigerode with its famous castle and town hall, the UNESCO World Heritage town of Quedlinburg with over 1000 half-timbered houses, the western town Pullman City in Hasselfelde and the well-known charcoal production of the Harz at the Stemberg house.
Of course, you can also enjoy a ride on the famous Harz narrow gauge railway to the Brocken, or try all the sporting activities of the Harz, such as the cross-country trails, many hiking and cycling routes, the climbing parks, the mega zipline and the wall running.
Getting there
Coming from the north, east or west, take the B6 until the exit Heimburg. Then follow the signs to Elbingerode (K 1347)for about 8 km. After a very sharp s-turn where there is 30km/h allowed, you turn left into the forest after about 800m. Follow the main road for approx. 3 km. Arriving at the small village you keep to the right and follow the route ca. 150 m until you reach your destination Haus Waldesruh (No. 21).
From the south you drive until Heimburg and then towards Wernigerode.
After approx. 2 km you turn towards Heimburg onto the 1347. After ca. 1,5 km you turn right onto a forest road and follow the description above.

Wir kommen wieder... Es fehlte an nichts.... Sehr gut ausgestattet und der Ablauf von Buchung bis Abreise alles top. Wer gerne Wandern geht ist hier bestens aufgehoben, Das Haus liegt unmittelbar an einem Wanderwege.

2 Wochen haben wir im "Haus Waldesruh" verlebt. Es hat uns bestens gefallen. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und ruhig gelegen. Die Ausstattung ist insgesamt sehr gut und geschmackvoll. Das große Bad ist komfortabel mit Doppelwaschtisch und einer wirklich guten Dusche. Es ist an alles gedacht worden, alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Die Gastgeber nett und hilfsbereit. An- und Abreise völlig "unbürokratisch" und dadurch angenehm. Wir können "Haus Waldesruh" daher ohne Einschränkung weiterempfehlen.
