Bergen aan Zee is a relatively quiet and beautifully located resort. It is surrounded by a very beautiful natural area where one can enjoy lovely walks and bike rides.
The beach is one of the most beautiful and widest beaches on the Dutch coast (Blue Flag!). The cozy little artist village Bergen, with many restaurants, cafes, terraces, lovely shops, and art galleries, is located inland at a distance of 4 kilometers. The historic center of the popular shopping city Alkmaar is a 15-minute drive away, and within 45 minutes you can be in the center of Amsterdam or Haarlem.
