Holiday destination
Céreste enchants visitors with its narrow, cobbled streets and old stone houses. A particular highlight are the remains of a Roman bridge and the 12th century church of Saint-Michel.
The village also has a special connection to René Char, a major French poet of the 20th century. During the Second World War, Char joined the Resistance and used the remote landscapes of the Luberon, and in particular Céreste, as a retreat and source of inspiration.
