For your stay in Stresa I can you some tips for excursions: here you can find the three famous islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori, each with its charm and different sights. A visit to the 3 Borromean Islands, which you can visit with the official boats of Navigazione Lago Maggiore (cheaper than the boat taxi service).

- Another excursion not to be missed is a visit to Lake Orta. From the house, drive up towards Mottarone and then turn off towards Orta in the village of Gignese. In Orta you will find a large car park, then just drive down to the centre of Orta, on the edge of the lake, the centre is very characteristic. If you want to take a boat, you can visit the island of San Giulio in the centre of the lake.
- If you love flowers, you can visit the botanical garden of Villa Taranto in Verbania-Pallanza (azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, magnolias, exotic flowers and plants, etc.).
- On Tuesday morning in Arona (15 km from Stresa) there is a large market by the lake. The car park is located behind the train station.
- If you are looking for a public beach, you can try Stresa in front of the Hotel Regina Palace (it is better to look for a car park in Stresa), or a few kilometres from Stresa in Baveno in the public park of Villa Fedora, with a beach and a kiosk, or on the beach of Feriolo Camping, at the end of the lake.
- For shopping you will find many nice shops and boutiques in the centre of Stresa and also in Arona (pedestrian area Cavour).
- In Stresa, Via Giosue' Carducci 30, you will find a new Conad supermarket with underground car park, which closes at 20:00, or in Via Roma 11 you will find the Carrefour supermarket, which closes at 21:00.
