Holiday destination

In the surrounding villages such as Grou and Akkrum, there are several shops, supermarkets, and restaurants. Both are accessible by bicycle. In less favorable weather, when you don't want to sail or cycle, it would be nice to visit Leeuwarden and Sneek. There are some beautiful museums there. You can also bring your own boat (or rent one) which you can dock at the mooring spot near the Ark. Your accommodation is a great starting point to enjoy your holiday on the water at the Sneekermeer or Pikmeer. From Grou, you can take a wonderful tour on a traditional Frisian SkÃ»tsje. Bringing your children along? Then you should definitely visit the Kameleon village in Terhorne. No pets are allowed on the houseboat, and smoking is prohibited.
