The location is great and central, with the nature reserve "De Hogeberg" and the "Wadden Sea" just around the corner. On foot or by bike, you can follow the coast or take one of the many paths through the countryside. The rest of the island with charming villages, great nature, and beach is within a few kilometers by bike or car.
Getting there
By car:
Coming from Utrecht towards Amsterdam, take the exit towards Zaanstad.
Then take the A7 towards Leeuwarden until the Den Oever exit.
From there to Den Helder, the ferry port is signposted.
On Texel:
From the ferry port, head north on Pontweg (N501). At roundabout 10, turn right and continue to follow the traffic signs to De Waal. Just before leaving Den Burg again, turn right into Waalderstraat. At the distinctive round glass building of OmnyAcc – on your left – make a sharp left onto Abbewaal. We are right at the end, until you can't go any further, on the round square to the left of Gamma.
