Holiday destination
Costa Calma, the "calm coast," is characterized by weaker winds and waves. It mostly offers a perfect bathing experience with crystal-clear water. The bay is about 1.5km long and part of the approximately 30km long Playa de Sotavento, which stretches far into the south of the island up to the tip. A few kilometers further south, windsurfing championships are regularly held, as completely different conditions prevail here with the strong winds that are typical for Fuerteventura and which make the island so beloved by surfers. Windsurfing and kitesurfing can be practiced and admired here.
Getting there
Among other travel options, the following are available:
1) Taxi: Costs approximately €80 for one way
2) Bus transfer, costs about €15 for one way per person (usually takes a bit longer since it stops at multiple hotels). You can specify nearby hotels as a destination, for example, Morasol or Tindaya, with a short walk at the end. Details upon request.
3) Rental car: the costs per day vary greatly, the route is as follows:
- Always stay on the FV-2 towards Morro Jable (about 65km)
- Take exit 68, Costa Calma OESTE (this is the 2nd exit!)
- Go straight through the roundabout
- Turn right at the end onto Av. Jahn Reisen
- At the next roundabout, take the second exit left onto Calle Sicasumbra
- At the next roundabout, take the second exit left onto Calle Punta Junquillo
- Immediately turn left onto Calle Punta de los Molinillos
- Immediately turn right onto Calle las Gangas
- At the end of the street, turn right (follow the sign "Solyventura")
- Drive to the end of the road. It is a dead-end street that ends in front of house number 22 (the destination)

Wir haben wundervolle drei Wochen in der Wohnung Alhambra verbracht. Erholung war geplant und ist voll aufgegangen. Es ist ein Traum am Morgen dem Sonnenaufgang entgegen zu schwimmen und sich anschließend an den Frühstückstisch zu setzen. Wir haben die direkte Lage am Strand sehr genossen und die gute Ausstattung der Terrasse. In der Wohnung haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, für unseren Bedarf bestens ausgestattet. An der einen oder anderen Stelle könnte renoviert werden, aber deswegen haben wir uns nicht weniger wohl gefühlt. Die zentrale Lage, aber trotzdem ruhige Lage ist großartig. Ausflüge über die Insel sind mit dem Auto von hier aus bestens zu machen.
Für einen Strandurlaub im Winter würden wir immer wieder kommen.

Das Appartement Alhambra hat für uns gepasst wie die Faust auf's Auge: Praktisch direkt am Strand, genau richtige Grösse, nette & einfache Buchung über die Besitzer, nette & einfache Kommunikation mit dem Betreuungspaar vor Ort. Die Alhambra liegt im Erdgeschoss, nach aussen eine Terasse mit Möbeln, wo man sich gut aufhalten und sonnen kann. Ausserhalb dann Costa Calma, was ja an sich schon ein riesiger durchgehender Strand ist. Wir fanden die Wohung klasse und kamen gut zurecht, da auch alles wichtige vorhanden ist: 4 Kochplatten, Töpfe & Pfannen, Geschirr, Mikrowelle. Gerne gehabt hätten wir einen Backofen, aber wir sind ja auch verwöhnt...
Fazit also: Hier kann man SEHR gut urlauben, hat den Strand um die Ecke und alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten zu Fuss erreichbar.
