During summer, the numerous lakes and rivers in the vicinity offer opportunities for swimming, surfing, sailing, boating, whitewater canoeing, and much more. The local waters are also very interesting for fishing. For nature enthusiasts, there are plenty of hiking opportunities of varying difficulty in the surrounding mountains, alpine pastures, or simply for mushroom picking or wild berry picking in the nearest forest areas. The Salzkammergut region also boasts hundreds of kilometers of mountain bike trails. Of course, there are also options for tennis, rafting, paragliding, glacier hiking, golfing at the 18-hole golf course in Bad Ischl, mini-golf in the town, and much more.
Cultural events are also plentiful in both Bad Goisern and Bad Ischl.
Museums, the Habsburg Imperial Villa with its Imperial Park and the Marble Palace, where the emperors of the monarchy spent their summer residence, can also be visited. Attractions such as the show mine (salt mining) in Hallstatt, the Giant Ice Caves in Obertraun, Koppenbrüller Cave, and much more are also nearby and await a visit should the weather not be suitable for swimming or hiking.
The largest ski area in Upper Austria, the "Dachstein West ski region," is just a few minutes away by car. For freeriders, in addition to the numerous ski touring routes of all difficulty levels, there is also the Freeride Arena Obertraun, a vast area that is not groomed and can thus be ridden freely.
Other ski areas such as Loser in Altaussee are also within easy reach.
Numerous cross-country ski trails, including one of the most beautiful in Austria (Panorama Nova), as well as toboggan runs, are also quickly accessible from the holiday home.
The town of Bad Goisern is located in the inner Salzkammergut, which is considered one of the most beautiful regions in the world. The diversity of nature with its numerous lakes, the stunning mountains with their abundant alpine pastures, as well as forests and mountain ranges that are still considered untouched to this day, is unique in Central Europe.
Bad Goisern has preserved its culture and traditions amidst a hectic world and, along with Hallstatt, has been declared a landscape conservation and World Heritage region by UNESCO.
Besides the typical hiking vacation, you can also swim, surf, sail, and enjoy the many cultural offerings here. In winter, numerous cross-country ski trails (including high-altitude trails), toboggan runs, and the Dachstein West ski region with its approximately 160 kilometers of slopes, or one of the numerous thermal baths in the nearby area, invite you to relax and unwind.
