Holiday destination
The "old school" is located directly on the Moselsteig Trail / 19 or 6, a popular hiking trail that leads from Klotten to Pommern.. Cochem is less than 10 minutes away by car and attracts with its old town and sights such as the Reichsburg Cochem (can be visited all year round).
There is a cafe diagonally opposite, in the next town, Illerich (3km) there is a village shop.
Kail is incredibly quiet and close to nature between the Moselle and the Eifel, surrounded by beautiful forests that you can explore on long walks if you want to leave your car. Around the house there are beautiful paths through forest and field, where you are mostly alone and everything so close that even smaller children can walk with them.
The Moselle with its side valleys and castles is almost on the doorstep. Eltz Castle is 15 km away. The nature and hiking paradise "Laacher See" is half an hour away, as well as other smaller Maare in the Vulkaneifel, including the Ulmener , Pulver- and Schalkenmehrener Maar.
Getting there
The Old School Kail is located directly above the village of Pommern/Moselle. From there they drive 4 km up the mountain, the school is located directly behind the church.
Coming from the A 48 motorway, it is located at the end of the town directly in front of the church.
