This Tuscan holiday villa is located in CASENTINO, a forest-rich, still very pristine and largely untouched region in the heart of Tuscany, which so far has only been mentioned in a few travel guides.
Here, the holiday guest lives among locals, without the hustle and bustle of tourists that is often found in many other vacation spots. If you appreciate nature with its many facets, like to spend your holidays in peace, and value 100% relaxation in a beautiful setting, then you are in the right place in Casentino. In the many small towns such as Poppi, Bibbiena, Stia, Pratovecchio, Rassina, and others, there is always something to discover. The monasteries of Camaldoli and La Verna, for example, are famous for their historic churches, there are well-preserved castles to visit, there is a market day once a week in every little town, there are still many small mom-and-pop shops but also supermarkets and shopping centers.
Everywhere you can find pizzerias, ice cream parlors, and typical restaurants. During the summer months, there are festivals such as the Porcini Mushroom Festival in Moggiona or the Wine Festival in Poppi, both well-known far beyond their borders, attracting guests from everywhere to enjoy and celebrate, allowing the holiday guest to wonderfully get to know the local cuisine, traditions, and customs.
Those who want to combine art and culture with their summer vacation can visit Florence, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Perugia, Cortona, Assisi, Arezzo... the list could go on endlessly.
All these cities can be reached from the holiday home in comfortable day trips (1 to a maximum of 2 hours driving time).
For shopping, you can drive to the nearby town of Bibbiena in just a few minutes, where there are cafés, restaurants, pizzerias, post office, bank, many small mom-and-pop shops, and a weekly market on Thursdays; in short, everything you need for daily life is available.
In the district of Bibbiena Stazione (located down on the main road), there is a large shopping center "IL CASENTINO" with a Coop supermarket, and there are also Lidl, Penny, Eurospin, Gala, and others. Detailed information will be provided upon booking.
The golf course in Poppi, with its picturesque panoramic location, is certainly not just a rewarding destination for golfers; non-golfers can also dine here, at the restaurant and pizzeria, and enjoy the unique view over the hills of Casentino and the well-preserved medieval castle of Poppi.
The provincial capital Arezzo is definitely worth a visit; on the first weekend of every month, the famous antique fair takes place here, well beyond the city limits. In the alleys of the old town, hundreds of exhibitors from all over offer their goods for sale. If you're lucky, you might find a really good antique piece, but even just strolling around and looking is charming, as there is a special atmosphere throughout the city on these days.
Half an hour's drive from Arezzo, for outlet fans, there is the Valdichiana Village to visit, set in a beautiful environment. Here you won't find the luxurious designer goods from Dior, Versace, etc., but first-class items from good Italian companies, which you need, wear, and use daily, at affordable, significantly reduced prices.
