Hundreds of kilometres of well-maintained hiking and cycling trails as well as cross-country skiing trails lead you through extensive forests and romantic small valleys to beautiful viewpoints and interesting historical buildings, monuments and museums of the region.
Due to the relatively high snow security, the landscape can also become your winter sports paradise.
Getting there
B 283 Aue - Klingenthal, Attention Number of place entries and exit signs with Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz can lead to confusion, in Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz OT Rautenkranz turn towards Morgenröthe, space exhibition and Sachsengrund, over bridge over the Mulde to the small roundabout, here the 1st exit Turn right towards Morgenröthe and Sachsengrund, now always follow the main road. The OT Morgenröthe will follow shortly. Drive through this on the main road and follow the sign "Sachsengrund" when leaving. After 3 km through the forest you come to the OT Sachsengrund. At the bus stop in front of the former Weidmannsheil inn, go up the mountain on the left, then keep to the right, now it is the 5th house on the right.
