Holiday destination
The village of Matala is placed at the south coast of Crete and is easy reachable from the airport of Heraklion. Iti is a small village which mainly depends on the tourism industry although it did not loose its authentic character. Family-run restaurants and hotels give Matala its unique character. Cars have been banned from the village centre, a while ago. Matala's geographical position makes it to a perfect starting point in order to explore Crete and its treasures.

Total entspannt, bereits für 2016 erneut gebucht. Super Lage, völlig Komplikationslos und mehr als hilfsbereit. SEHR familiäre Atmosphäre. Service geht weit über das übliche "Muss". Wer keine 5 *****+ erwartet kann es nicht besser treffen als hier bei Sophia und ihrer Familie.

An experience I can really recommend. The apartment was clean, in good condition and the other parts of the complex are also very nice. The rooms are cleaned once a day and they even take care of the dishes. The owner is super nice and helpful in case of problems. She even told the local fishermen to stop by so we could buy fresh fish. If you want to do extensive cooking, you will have to improvise because you usually get one cooking plate plus an extra tiny one for making coffee. This was a surprise for us but this is standard for apartments and it is hard to find something different without paying a lot.
