Holiday destination
Car: necessary. The small city of Sao Bras de Alportel is only 4 km away. There is a Lidl as well as native supermarkets such as pingo doce. Sao Bras also has a market hall where you can buy fresh fish, meat and vegetables every morning. You can find many different stores, banks, a post office, doctors, hair salons, many small cafés and restaurants alongside the main road 'Avenida da Liberdade' and its little side streets. Sao Bras has a beautiful old town with tiny alleyways and a very old church 'Igreja Matriz' which is typical for old Portuguese towns. The next biggest cities are Loulé, ca. 14km to the west, Faro, ca. 18km to the southwest, Tavira, ca. 20km to the east and Olhao, ca. 20km to the southeast. there is a huge gypsy market in Estoi which is on the way to Faro. This market is only once a month. Faro, which is not too far away, offers the opportunity for a nice long Shoppingtour in the shopping center 'Forum Algarve' as well as sightseeing tours with many world famous churches and a beautiful old town. Some of the most beautiful white sand beaches of Europe are only a 20-30 minute car ride away, for instance Faro, Dunas Doradas, Vale do Lobo, Quarteira or Vilamoura. Golf courses: Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vila Sol and Vilamoura are only a 30-40 minute car drive away.
Getting there
You can arrive either with your own car or by air plane. It is necessary to rent a car for your stay as the house is on a mountain side. You drive with your rental from the airport to the house. The exact coordinates of the house will be given to you before your booking. Ourt neighbors will welcome you at the house and will be available should there be any problems during your stay.
