While the daily boat trips to the neighbouring islands are a great way to explore the nature Croatia has to offer, many cultural and entertainment events held on Cres can give you a glimpse of Croatian traditions way of life. Nice places to visit while on Cres are Lubenice, Valun and Beli. Making a day trip to Losinj and visiting Museum of Apoxyomenos in Mali Losinj or Blue World Institute in Veli Losinj can also make your holiday memorable.
Holiday destination
The island of Cres stretches through the spacious Kvarner Bay and is the largest Adriatic island. The coastline of Cres is strongly divided, rich in bays and pebbly beaches in its western and southern part, while the north and east coast rise along steep and rough rocks. Cres has vast biodiversity, in both flora and fauna, thanks to its unique climate. Notably, a rescue centre for Griffon vulture, a protected species, is located on the island.
Getting there
After the border crossing Rupa (Pasjak) drive further by car road in the direction of Rijeka. After the outskirts of Rijeka you will arrive at the end of the car road where you will go on the roundabout in the direction of the island krk. You will come to the bridge of the Krk Bridge and go further to the island of Krk. Now drive in the direction of the town of Krk and after 20 km turn right to the port of Valbiska. You come to the port of Valbiska - Merag and board the ferry. Arrive by ferry to Cres Island and drive on the main road to Cres. Upon your arrival to the town of Cres, do not enter the center, but drive further towards Mali Lošinj and immediately turn right and go to Skalnica Street.

Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und mit hochwertiger Ausstattung schön eingerichtet. Im Haus gibt es zwei Bäder, zwei Schlafzimmer und eine durch eine Schiebetür abgetrennte Schlafnische. Vom Balkon aus hat man eine tolle Aussicht auf die Bucht von Cres und Teile der Altstadt, die man in 5-10 min zu Fuß erreichen kann. Hier gibt es zahlreiche nette Restaurants. Man kann aber auch in der schönen Außenküche des Hauses selbst grillen. Es wurden uns vier Fahrräder mit Schlössern und zwei Fahrradhelmen zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Betreuung vor Ort wurde durch die Tochter des Vermieters sehr kompetent und unaufdringlich durchgeführt. Sie war jeder Zeit ansprechbar und zeigte sich äußerst gastfreundlich. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in dem Haus, das wir sehr weiterempfehlen können.

Wir durften 10 Nächte hier im Haus verbringen. Es war einfach traumhaft. Herr Gobic war stets erreichbar. Das Haus ist sehr modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Uns wurden auch Fahrräder zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Aussicht einfach traumhaft. Strände mit kleinen Kies gibt es genügend und alle zu Fuß erreichbar. Danke das wir hier einen so schönen Urlaub verbringen durften.
