Holiday destination
Salem is nationally recognized as a spa resort and is 7 km from Lake Constance. Particularly loved as a bathing destination is the Schlosssee 20 minutes away on foot through the fruit plantations (8 minutes by bike). The spacious family friendly natural adventure park has free swimming. Salem Castle, 3 km away (from 1142-1802 it was a Cistercian abbey) offers tours through the lovely historic rooms. The popular Affenberg with 200 forest dwelling Barbary apes is in the Salem district. Nearby destinations: stilt dwellings in Unteruhldingen on the banks of Lake Constance (world heritage site), the romantic cities of Meersburg, Überlingen and the Birnau pilgrimage church. A bit further away: the flower island of Mainau, Reichenau island (old culture site + vegetables) and the famous island of Linday as well as Constance and Friedrichshafen. Also easy to reach is the mighty Rheinfall at Schaffhausen, the volcanoes in Hegau, Allgäu and the neighbouring alps. Public transport goes to all destinations.

Das Haus mit drei Ferienwohnungen liegt ruhig, ist sehr gepflegt und verfügt über einen sehr schönen Garten. Die Vermieterin ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und hat viel Sinn für liebenswerte Details. So gibt es im Eingangsbereich und im Garten allabendlich brennende Kerzen, die Dekoration ist wertig und erlesen und die Bilder von der Hobbymalerin selbst gestaltet und geschmackvoll gehängt. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen und ist ebenfalls wertig. Die Vermieterin legt großen Wert auf das Mitwirken der Gäste am Erhalt dieses wahren Kleinods und das macht man als Gast auch sehr gern. Salem ist ein Tipp für alle, die dem sommerlichen Trubel direkt am Bodensee etwas entgehen wollen, Das nahe Schloss und der gepflegte, kostenlos nutzbare Schlosssee sind ein Muss für den Geist und pures Badevergnügen.

Es war einfach wieder - zum 4. Mal - super schön. Die Wohnung ist einfach ein Traum. Es fehlt an nichts. Die Gastgeber herzlich, sehr aufmerksam und sehr bemüht ihren Gästen ein paar schöne Tage zu geben. Wir haben uns wieder sehr gut erholt und werden bestimmt wieder bei der Familie Baumung-Detzel buchen.
