Holiday destination
The estate is located south of Tours, nestled between the castles of Rigny-Ussé, Azay-le-Rideau, Langeais, Chinon, and Villandry in a small hamlet of 3 houses. The entire valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It's one and a half kilometers to the nearest village, Rivarennes, 500 meters to the Indre River, and 3 kilometers to the Loire River. The tranquility at the house is perfect, and at the same time, it could not be more conveniently situated as a starting point for excursions to the attractions and culinary sites of Touraine.
Getting there
By car from Germany via Orléans to Tours, and from there another 30 km to Rivarennes.
By train with the TGV to Paris, then by TGV (1h) to Tours and then continue with a local train to Rivarennes.
By plane to Paris, from there by TGV to Tours - then either continue with the local train or rent a car at the TGV station.

Host informationSince our youth, we have both been lovers of French culture, fine cuisine, and the good life. We have renovated the house as a private residence with great attention to historical details and live in it ourselves for part of the year. An extensive garden with vegetables and fruit is available for our guests to enjoy.
Christine Zeile wrote a book in 2019 about her experience with this garden titled "Auf der Suche nach dem Geschmack der Kindheit" (DTV).

Wer einen Garten voller reifer Tomaten und Äpfel, Bücherregale voller sehr guter Literatur, eine ausgesuchte CD-Sammlung und ein so liebe- wie geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus zu schätzen weiß, der ist hier am genau richtigen Ort! In naher Umgebung (ein Auto empfiehlt sich) sind einige der schönsten Loire-Schlösser ebenso zu finden wie das nicht minder sehenswerte Musée Rabelais oder Wohnhaus und Atelier von Max Ernst und Dorothea Tanning. Man kann in den von den Gastgebern empfohlenen Restaurants hervorragend essen oder z. B. in der Markthalle in Tours alle Köstlichkeiten bekommen und in der gut ausgestatteten Küche selbst zubereiten. Ein Urlaub also, in dem sich kulturelle wie kulinarische Genüsse mit der Schönheit und Ruhe von Haus und Garten wunderbar kombinieren lassen. Vielen Dank!

Eine große, sehr schön gelegene Ferienwohnung mit Top-Ausstattung. Ruhige Umgebung inmitten der Natur. Es sind viele Schlösser in der Umgebung zu finden, sodass auch Kulturinteressierte auf ihre Kosten kommen.
