In the expansive ski paradise between the Radstädter and Dachstein Tauern, 8 ski resorts have joined forces to form the Sportwelt Amade. The vast range of options leaves nothing to be desired in terms of alpine skiing/snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and après-ski. The Planai is still considered the most spectacular World Cup descent today. 75 lifts provide access to 175km of slopes of all difficulty levels. 70% of the slopes are snow-sure above 1,300m in altitude. 170km can even be artificially snowed. Due to the northern orientation of the slopes, the facilities are in operation from December until after Easter. Additional ski area on the Dachstein glacier at 2,700m. 40 ski huts await you. For those who want even more, there's the "Verbund amadè" ski pass, which also includes the Salzburg Sportwelt, Grossarl, Gastein, and Hochkönig. The easily accessible and particularly snow-sure ski area of Obertauern is also an option. 350km of cross-country trails, numerous fun parks, snow rafting, 250km of winter hiking trails, artificial ice rinks, 100km of toboggan runs, moonlight tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, indoor swimming pools. In summer, the Tauern Card offers endless recreational fun, including free rides up to the Dachstein, the Skywalk, Ice Palace, mountain railways, and many mountain lakes, pools, and swimming lakes, gorges, and museums.
