Ice climbing, shooting competitions, the shooting arena in Großkirchheim, the Großglockner High Alpine Road, alpine hiking, the climbing park in Heiligenblut (Möllschlucht Klettersteig).
Day trips to Italy/Friaul, Trieste, Grado (Mediterranean: 230 km) via the Plöcken Pass. Relaxing hiking tours (easy) through high alpine pastures in (Ober-) Schachnern (Heiligenblut), 1000m (beeline) from the house.
Holiday destination
Easy hiking trails as well as high alpine challenges can be found in the immediate vicinity.
In the winter, you only have to drive 2.5 km to the lift station or walk 300m to the ski bus. Heiligenblut has a good infrastructure - from a doctor's practice to a supermarket. The deep, narrow valley and extensive mountain pastures offer nature lovers countless options for outdoor activities.
If you are looking for a different experience, going on a shopping spree in Lienz with its Italian flair and mild climate (due to the influence of the Mediterranean) is a great alternative. A trip to Italy via the Plöcken Pass is another option.
Getting there
From the north: Munich, Kufstein, Kitzbühel, >Felbertauern road<, Matrei, Lienz, Winklern, Heiligenblut (the district Rojach is located 2 km outside the town centre). Please note: the Großglockner High Alpine Road is closed in winter and at night during the summer months.
From the south and west, you'll be travelling via Lienz. Travelling by train from the north, your stop is Munich/München-Mallnitz (Tauern Motorail); the tourist office will arrange for a shuttle bus if needed.
The GPS location information: 9844 Heiligenblut - Rojach house number 16, that's the direct neighbour. Parking is available in front of the house; just drive up to the carport where you'll find two parking spaces. Snow clearing is provided by the municipality.

Wir sind als Familie angereist zum Skifahren. Sofort haben wir uns in der liebevoll, modern eingerichteten Wohnung wohlgefühlt. Es ist an alles gedacht wurden, somit hat es an nix gefehlt. Die Anreise war Perfekt beschrieben , alles hat toll geklappt. Bei Fragen war immer jemand erreichbar. Selbst als wir Wetterbedingt eher abgereist sind, hat sich Familie Soestmeyer bei uns telefonisch gemeldet und nachgefragt, ob alles okay ist. Wir sind absolut begeistert und empfehlen diese tolle Wohnung gern weiter. Wir würden immer wieder kommen. Danke Familie Soestmeyer
