The picturesque town of Fornalutx is in the midst of the Tramuntana Mountains, declared as a World Human Heritage by Unesco. Lots of trails and cycling routes start here. The trail Tossals Verds leads you through Mediterranean woods, antic buildings and small paths. The fresh water reservoir Cúber, which is at the foot of the Puig Major, is also a very nice and popular trail.
The beaches of the Tramuntana are mostly characterized by rocks and cool, clear waters, for example Cala Deià, Puerto de Valldemossa and Llucalcari. If you prefer sand beaches, you can visit Puerto de Sóller and Cala Tuent. In Sóller and Puerto de Sóller you'll find supermarkets, restaurants and shops. In Fornalutx, there's a small grocery shop. Near Sóller is the Muleta Cave where the most ancient human remains of Majorca have been found.
