Rent a pedal boat in Maccagno, hire a motorized boat in Luino, visit the large Wednesday market in Luino with Italian specialties and fantastic leather goods, swim in Lake Maggiore, stroll along the lakeside promenade in places like Luino or Maccagno, hike to the Lago D'Elio reservoir (about 1 hour up and 1 hour down) at the mountain's summit.

The holiday home "Bella Barella", which means "Beautiful Place of Tranquility", is situated 350m above the lake in a quiet, natural location with a magnificent, unobstructed view of Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains.
The area is favorable for excursions on foot into a wildly romantic landscape and picturesque mountain villages, or by car to the nearby regions of Switzerland or Italy, as well as boat trips on the lake, for example, to the splendid Borromean Islands Isola Bella, Isola Madre, or Isola Pescatori.

Das Haus hat eine sehr schöne, exponierte Lage oberhalb von Maccagno mit einem atemberaubenden Blick über den Lago Maggiore, welcher auch in der Nacht sehr beeindruckend ist. Das Haus ist in einem sehr guten und sehr sauberen sowie auch außen herum gepflegten Zustand. Die Küche bietet alles, was man für einen Kochabend benötigt. Auf dem Balkon findet man gerade Abends bei einem Campari oder einem Gläschen Wein eine tiefe Ruhe um vom Alltag abzuschalten. Unbezahlbar! Dieses erkauft man sich auch sehr gerne mit einer 15-minütigen Fahrt über eine schmalere Straße von Maccagno aus nach oben, was aber alles in allem sehr gut zu bewältigen ist. Die Vermieterin ist eine sehr sehr nette Dame, immer daran gelegen, dass der Aufenthalt perfekt wird. Bei Problemen wäre sie telefonisch für uns immer erreichbar gewesen.

Wir sind zu dritt als Freundesgruppe gekommen und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Schlafzimmer und Gästezimmer waren frisch renoviert und bieten wie das lichtdurchflutete Wohnzimmer einen unglaublichen Blick über den See. Keine Umgebungsgeräusche außer der Natur. Ein toller Ort zum Gitarre Spielen und für Kreativität. Wanderungen in die Umgebung waren von der Wohnungstür erreichbar. Fliegengitter haben uns vor Insekten am Abend geschützt, was wegen der direkten Nähe zur Natur sehr nützlich war. In der Küche gab es alles, was man zum Kochen benötigt. Ein gemütliches Kaminfeuer war an einem Abend unser Highlight. Wir hatten vom Hafen in Maccagno eine Schiffstour zu den Boromäischen Inseln gemacht. Ein Blumenparadies. Absolute Empfehlung, für alle, die Natur und Entschleunigung suchen.
