Other recreational opportunities
Neuenkirchen has a few cultural offers, e.g. nature hiking tour with bird voices imitator and Biologist Dr. Uwe Westphal, elf weekends with Ines Bargholz in the galery, kitchen concerts at Adeleidem's and literature salons in the Owl Nest. And sometimes we organise spontaneous and beautiful summer fairs.
Holiday destination
Neuenkirchen has around 100 inhabitants and is located in the biosphere reserve Schaalsee. It has its own lake – the Neuenkirchener See. It not only invites you to swim in it, but also to have relaxing walks around it. Beyond that, there are varied touristic offers in the area that will turn your holiday into a memorable stay. The Hanseatic cities Hamburg, Lübeck and Wismar as well as the capital city of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are easy to reach. It’s only 45 km till the Baltic Seaside Resort Boltenhagen.
Getting there
Route 24 to Wittenburg or Zarrentin. With the train to Hagenow or Boizenburg and than with the bus 540 to Zarrentin or Bantin. I may pick you up. Just call me.

Das Eulennest ist eine Wohnung ohne Schnickschnack, mit allem, was ein gutes Quartier ausmacht und mit soviel mehr. Beim Betreten der Räume fühlt eins sich gastfreundlich willkommen geheißen. Schon von den Fenstern aus sind Wildtiere zu beobachten, der Garten lädt zum Träumen ein. Hier ist es leicht, abzuschalten und Ruhe zu finden, von hier aus loszuwandern in die traumhaft schöne Natur. Danke, liebe Frau Labs, dass sie uns so freundlich und hilfsbereit aufgenommen haben. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Dieses Wochenende im Herbst wird noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben, weil es ein besonderes Wochenende war. Aus der termingefüllten Hektik des Alltags reisten wir in die ruhige Abgeschiedenheit des Eulennestes. Es begann mit dem herzlichen und offenen Empfang durch die freundliche Gastgeberin. Die gemütliche Bescheidenheit im Eulennest war wohltuend. Die Ruhe in der Umgebung wurde vom Rufen der Kraniche und Wildgänse umrahmt. Wanderungen und Radtouren in urwüchsigen Wäldern, an den Ufern der Seen und durch sanfte Hügellandschaft prägten die Zeit, die nicht ausreichte, um die gesamte Schönheit dieser Gegend erkunden zu können. Der Ausflug endete mit der Einladung in den hauseigenen Garten, um Birnen und Walnüsse zu ernten. Auch dafür: "Danke!"
