Holiday destination
In direct vicinity you will find a golf course, a forest and a camping ground with idyllically situated swimming lake. The surroundings are superb for making long walks or bicycle trips.
Papenburg is famous for it's horticultural undertakings growing crops in glasshouses with a total surface of nearly 700.000 m² as well as the Meyer-Shipyard, where luxurious cruise ships are build.
Getting there
Coming from Hamburg/Bremen:
take the motorway A1 continue towards Oldenburg via the motoways A28 + A31 until you get to the exit Papenburg. Or you take the B401 and drive along the "Küstenkanal" towards Papenburg. This would be the more beautiful route.
Coming from Ruhrgebiet/Düsseldorf/Cologne:
From motorway interjunction Bottrop take the A31 until the exit Papenburg.
Coming from Dortmund/Münster/Osnabrück:
Take the A1 until the motorway cross Osnabrück, chance to the A30 until the Schüttdorfer Kreuz, then take the A31 until the exit Papenburg.
Coming from the Netherlands:
From Amsterdam take motorway A7 via Groningen until the motorway cross Bunde, than take the A31 until exit Papenburg.

Wir als Paar und ein Hund finden das Ferienhaus von Frau Meyer Super. Morgens und Abends hörte man die Nachtigall. Ja der Kleiderschrank im Schlafzimmer waren leider die meisten Fächer belegt mit Bettwäsche oder Handtücher also blieb nicht viel Stauraum für uns. Im Garten müsste man etwas die Hecken und Bäume kürzen besonderst hinterm dem Haus. Die Mirabellen liegen auf den Rasen zerstreut. Jetzt waren sie noch grün aber später wenn sie reif sind stürzen sich Bienen und Wespen darauf das ist nicht schön. Und für Hundepfoten gefährlich jegliche Stiche. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden mit dem Ferienhaus. Wir kommen gerne wieder Frau Meyer. Uwe & Ramona Römer aus Kassel

Preis für ein ganzes Haus war sehr gut, die Lage für uns auch prima.
Leider ließ die Sauberkeit und Hygiene etwas zu wünschen übrig,
Spuren der letzten Bewohner waren im Küchen-/Wohnbereich und
auch im Bad zu finden, im Schlafzimmerschrank in den Regalen kaum Platz,
da er vollgestopft war mit Bettwäsche und anderen Utensilien.
