Our holiday flat is located in a quiet residential area, at the end of a ring road with direct access to the Saarland cycling and hiking trail network. The location of the holiday flat is an ideal starting point for excursions: the Renaissance town of Ottweiler is less than 10 kilometres away and is well worth a visit, as is the town of St. Wendel in the northern Saarland with its impressive basilica and cosy old town. Or you can visit Saarlouis, often referred to as the "secret capital" of the Saarland, with its French flair and, not forgetting, the state capital Saarbrücken with its numerous museums. Incidentally, the latter can be easily reached by train from Illingen railway station in just over 20 minutes.
In addition to the many Saarland sights, you can reach the borders to Luxembourg, France, and our Palatinate neighbours from here in around 30 minutes.
