Where can you find something like this? Right in the tri-state corner of Salzburg, Bavaria, and Tyrol – in the quaint holiday resort of Unken, something very modern has been established.
Amidst lush meadows and rugged mountain giants, your hosts Heidi, Leo, and Chris have taken a pioneering role in a new holiday concept. Known from TV documentaries and construction and living magazines, a “Tiny House” in the Salzburger Saalachtal is probably the least expected. Built in the most modern solid wood construction, sustainable and really well thought out, the trio has constructed two of these low-energy houses at the edge of their idyllic hotel grounds. Brand new, very stylish and yet perfectly integrated into nature, they are supplied with “green” electricity and their own spring water.

The two houses can be booked separately but also together (with connecting door)
Top modern furnishings in a cozy atmosphere with fully equipped kitchens and solid wood furniture
Enjoying the location by the natural swimming pond with open views, away from hotel activities
Nevertheless, all amenities such as wellness, fitness & co. can be booked additionally from the hotel on-site: half board at the hotel or would you prefer a breakfast basket or the roll service for a private breakfast on the terrace with a view of meadows, woods, and mountains
For your relaxed barbecue evening, you can best get fresh herbs directly from the Tiny roof... yes, you heard it right
Here you "must" do nothing, but you can do everything and most importantly: be happy!
In summer a true natural paradise
Be sure to visit the original hiking area in the Unkener Heutal or the managed huts in the Loferer Almenwelt. Genuine regional delicacies and a good portion of hospitality are served here. The Heutal is also a rewarding excursion area for mountain bikers and e-bikers. Enjoyable hikes to real summit tours start right in front of your Tiny door. If you feel like a bit more adventure, then the canyoning and rafting offers in the wild Saalach provide the right adrenaline rush.
In winter there's something for EVERYONE
When planning your holiday, the motto is: “Definitely don’t commit!” There’s simply too much beautiful stuff to experience. For skiing fun, both the small, fine family ski area in the idyllic Heutal and the Almenwelt Lofer ski area provide excellent options. Even among locals, the most beautiful ski lodge in Austria with its good price-performance ratio is considered one of the insider tips. Just about 15 minutes by free ski bus from Unken, you will already enter the trendy Tyrolean ski region Steinplatte/Waidring.
Cross-country skiers, snowshoers, ski tour fans, and tobogganers love the Heutal. It offers so many natural beauties and delights with its well-developed trail networks.
Back in the Tiny House, you can relax in the hotel's own wellness area with sauna, infrared, and a massage. Or order a tasty mulled wine to the warming fire bowl on your terrace and enjoy!
