Sustainable Holidaysin the Hohe Tauern National Park
It's all the rage. The green footprint, CO² neutral travel, flight shaming, sustainability, and much more. Almost everyone feels the urge to save the world and wants to do their part.
You too have the opportunity here and now to pay attention to your environment during your vacation.
How does that work? Well:
You find yourself in an old mill from 1776. This charming mill was completely renovated between 2017 and 2019. The old, historic walls were preserved, and some old wooden beams were refurbished and reused. Millstones from that time now support new tabletops. The mill is still operational today, albeit in a completely new form. Electricity is generated on-site. The concept ensures the self-sufficiency of the owners, who place great value on "green" electricity from hydropower. The steady hum behind the generator room is the acoustic proof of this.
It’s the details that make the "new" mill special.Creaking wooden doors
An impressive tiled stove, a masterpiece by the master tiler
Large, bright, and spacious rooms with a lot of high-quality carpentry
Charming lounge area for relaxing
Comfortable sleeping arrangements for the kids on a viewing platform
The amenities are high-quality, comfortable, and leave nothing to be desired.
Washing machine and tumble dryer – athletes and mountain enthusiasts will be thrilled!
A dream for kitchen wizards – you can cook here, but you don't have to. The charming town center of Bramberg is just 500 meters away.
Your summer in the Hohe Tauern National Park
Between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Hohe Tauern National Park, things are truly happening. Varied hiking and mountain biking tours are the classics. Especially the kids' eyes light up when the new panorama or slide path is mentioned. The Adventure Arena Kogel-Mogel and the unique mountain cart track provide winning poses... even for the adults.
Fun on the slopes and winter magic in the Wildkogel Arena
When you step out of the gondola at 2,100 m above sea level and take in the panorama, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the many 3,000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern. In the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps, the best conditions for an unforgettable winter holiday in the mountains prevail. The ski area at Wildkogel has received multiple awards and is optimal for families, beginners, and returners. Other well-known ski areas, such as the Zillertal Arena and the Kitzbühel Alps ski area, offer about 300 kilometers of slopes.
By the way: For practice, it's best to head to the private glacier. The "Wennsergletscher" with a small ski lift is just 100 meters from your mill. A popular cross-country skiing trail also passes by the "glacier."
Tip: Here’s a little list of activities to plan for your vacation time:
Right in the town of Bramberg ends the longest illuminated toboggan run in the world, measuring 14 km in length.
Must-see visits: The Krimml Waterfalls – spectacular even in winter
The Großglockner High Alpine Road – the way to Austria's landmark
National Park Worlds Mittersill – a top bad weather tip
