In the center of the Hohe Tauern National Park lies the idyllic municipality of Großkirchheim with its main village Döllach. The village is situated at an altitude of 1024 meters and has 1600 inhabitants.
With numerous hiking trails, Großkirchheim is one of the most beautiful hiking regions in Austria and lies directly at the Großglockner. The proximity to Lake Tristacher and Lake Millstatt in summer, as well as the particularly beautiful high alpine ski resort in Heiligenblut (8 km/ski bus) in winter, make this region a highlight for anyone seeking relaxation.
In winter, snow-covered forests, cleared winter hiking trails, and ski tracks invite you for walks or tours; you can also indulge in ice skating, tobogganing, and ice climbing to your heart's content.
